Made to Last,
Made with Restraint
Every classic design deserves to be taken seriously — in its materials, its craft, and the home it will one day belong to.

At MODERNCLASSIC, we believe true classic design should stand the test of time — and stand up to scrutiny about its impact on the planet. From how we select our materials to every step on the production floor, we keep looking for ways to let quality and responsibility coexist. Our goal is simple: build furniture worth keeping for a lifetime, while leaving as light a footprint as possible along the way.

A Promise That Starts with a Plank of Wood and a Roll of Leather
Good furniture begins with responsible material choices. We work only with reputable tanneries, select sustainable fabrics from names like Kvadrat® and Maharam®, and use FSC®-certified wood sourced from responsibly managed forests. Every material is chosen to balance beauty, durability, and environmental responsibility, so our designs can stand the test of time while leaving a smaller footprint behind.
These choices may seem small on their own, but together they reflect our ongoing commitment to sustainability — building furniture that's both responsible and built to be passed down.
Doing Our Part
We track our efforts to ensure that our commitment isn't just a promise, but a measurable impact.
Carbon Offset
We've offset over 12,000 tons of CO₂ by planting trees in deforested areas — equivalent to taking 2,500 cars off the road for a year.
Waste Reduction
We've reduced our manufacturing waste by 28% over the past year by improving our production processes and recycling over 40 tons of materials.
Energy Efficiency
Our Bellingham production facility now runs on 35% renewable energy, and we're working toward 100% by 2028.
Partnership for a Greener Future
Since 2019, we've been partnering with Evergreen Climate Alliance, an organization that specializes in carbon offset projects. Together, we've already contributed to impactful environmental initiatives, including tree planting, carbon offset projects, and clean energy solutions.
This effort is more than just offsetting carbon — it's about supporting communities, restoring ecosystems, and helping mitigate climate change. By working with trusted organizations, we're actively contributing to a more sustainable future for the planet.
