The Corbusier Sofa Collections (1928) introduced a groundbreaking concept, which they playfully referred to as "cushion baskets." These collections were a modernist response to the traditional club chair, reimagining the structure of sofas and chairs with externalized frames. These steel frames cradled thick, resilient pillows, aiming to provide the comfort of a cushioned surface while embracing the elegant minimalism and industrial logic of the International Style. Today, nearly 90 years later, the Corbusier Sofa's simple tubular structure remains remarkably relevant to our contemporary lifestyles, offering a timeless blend of comfort and aesthetic appeal.
